***PRESS RELEASE û TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF INTERFACTIONAL FOUNDATION***

We stand at a precarious moment in time. Our star cluster is divided, and the governments of our national factions seem poised to seize upon every opportunity to bicker and dispute with each other, while the fate of billions of civilians hangs in the balance. Our elites and leaders either draw upon the existing hatreds and the accepted historical bases for mutual hostility to position themselves vis-a-vis each other for maximum political gain, or else abscond for ersatz empires of their own making on the outer rim of the cluster. The fate of billions of EVEÆs people therefore lies in the hands of individuals who are either ignorant of, or who willingly distort, the historical interfactional grievances for personal, partisan or economic advantage, regardless of what the underlying truth may actually be.
But knowledge is power. The truth of history û of our common history as the people of EVE û that truth lies yet to be discovered and publicized in an objective and unbiased way à and itÆs this truth that ultimately will lead to more informed choices by every citizen of every state and empire in EVE, and a more enlightened and rational mode of discourse among the peoples of EVE and their respective political representatives. This truth must be uncovered, and made widely known, before a cataclysmic disaster seizes our star cluster, shakes it to its foundations for no good reason, and billions of lives are lost simply out of profound and widespread ignorance.
The Truth and Reconciliation Committee is an independent foundation of scholars, researchers and publicists who are focused on studying the underlying causes of the racial, factional and sectarian divisions among humanity, publishing and publicizing the results of this research, and actively encouraging the reconciliation of different perspectives through a relentless, independent and honest pursuit of the truth. The CommitteeÆs activities are conducted independent of any state or factional entity, are privately funded, and are conducted primarily out of its facility in Luminaire, the capital system of the Gallente Federation, by a collection of scholars and researchers drawn from the University of Caille, the School of Applied Knowledge and Republic University. The Committee plans to publish the results of its research from time to time using various available media designed to reach the widest possible audience in the EVE cluster, including the majority of capsule pilots who are connected to the Galnet. The Committee expects to publish its first paper in the near future in the hopes of sparking intelligent discussion, debate and ultimately the widespread growth of more enlightened perspectives on the history of our shared star cluster.
